About Posidance
Posidance is a mindfulness-based initiative aimed at bringing dancers and students back to the initial purpose of dance: to connect and communicate.
Based on psychological foundations to assist in resilience and wellbeing, we offer workshops, information sessions, and additional content that explores the mind-body connection and assists others in honing in on their uniqueness.

Dancing was used to connect and communicate with others
Dancing has been around for as long as humanity has. Originally dancing was a language used by everyone, to share stories and to communicate emotions and events.
Since its inception, dancing has adapted from a communal act to a disciplined yet beautiful art form. For non-dancers, this can deter them from getting involved in dancing, as they believe it is a skill rather than biologically sound. For dancers, this results in a focus towards how a dancer looks stylistically rather than understanding and appreciating the meaning and purpose behind what they do.

When we lose the initial purpose of dance and believe that it is only for some and not all, we lose an integral skillset that allows us to understand and appreciate ourselves, which in turn deters us from sharing our unique and wonderful talents with others.

Posidance is here to change that: utilising dance, mindfulness and positive psychology to ensure that everyone can reap the benefits of dance, and fully appreciate how we can use it to connect and communicate with others.
